Approximately 50 members of the Albany-Colonie Regional and the Schenectady County chambers of commerce visited Tech Valley High School on Friday as part of a tour of the University at Albany East Campus and a forum on future technology related jobs in the region.
One aspect of the several-hour forum was a presentation from TVHS students, faculty and Principal Dan Liebert on TVHS and how the education provided at the unique regional high school is geared towards preparing students for the demands of the technology-driven workplace of the 21st century.
"The students spoke about what they are doing, how they are learning and how it's different from a traditional school setting," said Liebert.
TVHS students also served as greeters when the business people descend on the university.
"This was another fantastic opportunity for our students to discuss with the leaders of this region the opportunities that Tech Valley High affords them," said Liebert.
