Prospective students tour TVHS

2.11.09
Dozens of prospective students from nearly every school in the Capital Region toured Tech Valley High School this week as they completed requirements to apply to the regional public high school.
The students from seven area counties toured the school, sat in on classes and asked questions of TVHS faculty, administrators and even some students during tours of the school that were conducted on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Visiting TVHS while classes are in session is one of the requirements of applying to the school, a requirement Principal Dan Liebert said, that is designed to make sure prospective students understand that TVHS is a different learning environment than a traditional public high school. Students who attend TVHS learn 21st Century Skills such as collaboration, communication and self-direction through project-based learning.
Approximately 150 eighth grade students from across the region have shown an interest in applying to the school for admission to the 2010-11 school year.
