03.04.10
The delayed Chinese New Year Celebration will take place on Friday, with demonstrations, dance and more.
The event, which is open to the public begins at 5 p.m. at the high school, was rescheduled from February 26 because of bad weather.
Students in Tech Valley High School's Mandarin Chinese classes will provide lessons and tutorials in activities such as Chinese calligraphy and offer Chinese food during the celebration.
TVHS is located on the University at Albany East Campus in East Greenbush which is located on state Routes 9 and 20.
Students have been preparing for the celebration for several months outside of class, rehearsing at home and in individual work time during the day.
"This is going to be a celebration and educational opportunity for everyone," said TVHS Mandarin Chinese Teacher Diana Lim.
"The students really get into this and it's truly a fun time," added Principal Dan Liebert.
