A pair of Tech Valley High School students with an interest in teaching will lead classes in their home school districts this coming weeks.

Junior Siana Botts is returning to her home school district, Germantown, where she is studying this week with her own former teacher, Mrs. Ide,  elementary education.

She will deliver a lesson to kindergarten students on Thursday at the Germantown school.

Meanwhile, Junior Allison Beerle  started on January 11 her mentoring in Mohonason, where she is working with teacher Mr. Diacetes. She is scheduled to deliver a lesson later this week.

The students are studying education as part of their J-Term projects. J-Terms are a unique aspect of the Tech Valley High School education experience through which all TVHS students  must conduct at least as week of in-depth study and research, immersing themselves in a topic.

The projects are designed to enable individual interaction between students and area professionals that help students gain a realistic understanding of an industry or field of study that is practiced in our region.

The projects take between a week and three weeks for students to complete and involve dozens of area professionals. The work  culminates with presentations by the students to their peers at TVHS in early February.
