Update
Area Leaders Named to Tech Valley School Foundation
Four area leaders were recently elected to serve on the Tech Valley
School Foundation:
Eileen R. Lindburg, vice president, CB Richard Ellis, Albany; Dr. Barbara Nagler,
retired district superintendent of Capital Region BOCES; and Dale M. Thuillez, special counsel to
the law firm of Thuillez, Ford, Gold, Butler & Young, LLP, Albany, will serve on the board of directors of the
Tech Valley School Foundation. John Cavalier, retired chairman of the board of MapInfo
Corporation, was re-elected foundation president.
The foundation was created in 2007 to support the school and help raise funds to provide a margin of excellence
for the school, according to Mr. Cavalier.
Others serving on the board are Dr. James N. Baldwin, district superintendent of Questar III and acting
superintendent of Capital Region BOCES, and Gerald Carozza, chief operating officer of Capital Region BOCES.
Ms. Lindburg, principal in CB Richard Ellis, Albany, has been a licensed real estate broker since
1989. She is a member of the Commercial and Industrial Real Estate Brokers, the Greater Capital Association of
Realtors, the New York State Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors. She was chair of
the board of Equinox Inc., a trustee of the Albany Academy for Girls and a director of the Albany-Colonie Regional
Chamber of Commerce. She currently serves on the board of the Eastern Region of the Nature Conservancy. Ms.
Lindburg earned her MBA in finance from the University of Rochester Graduate School of Management (Simon School)
and received her undergraduate degree from St. Mary's College in Notre Dame, Ind.
Dr. Nagler served as the district superintendent of Capital Region BOCES from 1998 to 2007.
Previously, Dr. Nagler was an administrator and teacher in early childhood special education and was the
coordinator of Handicapped and Remedial Education at Rensselaer-Columbia-Greene BOCES. She was an elementary
principal at Averill Park Central School District; superintendent of Maplewood School District; and superintendent
of Brunswick (Brittonkill) School District. Dr. Nagler holds a bachelor's of science degree from Empire State
College, a master of arts degree from The College of St. Rose and a doctor of education degree from the University
of Massachusetts in Amherst.
Mr. Thuillez is a member of the litigation department at Thuillez, Ford, Gold, Butler & Young,
LLP, Albany. He is a fellow of the American Bar Foundation and the New York State Bar Foundation and a trustee of
Albany Law School, where he was an adjunct professor teaching trial advocacy. He is the author of Parental
Non-Supervision, The Tort That Never Was. He received his law degree from Albany Law School and is a graduate
of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Mr. Cavalier was named president and CEO of MapInfo in 1996, a position he held until being
elected co-chairman of the board in 2001 and chairman in 2002. Previously he was president and CEO of Antares
Alliance Group, of Dallas. He served as vice president and general manager for the Apple International division of
Apple Computer, Inc., responsible for the Americas, Far East and Africa. At Apple, he was also vice president and
general manager of the Personal Computer Division. In addition, Mr. Cavalier has held CEO positions at three other
leading software companies, held a key executive position at Atari, and worked in general management, sales and
marketing positions at American Can Company. |
