Success
At the end of the school year in June, TVHS students reflected on their first year. Here’s what several students had to say:

“Throughout this year, I have grown not only in content knowledge, but as a person. TVHS has given me the experience of working in teams and shown the importance behind collaboration. The school stresses critical thinking and innovation; skills that will help to solve the often-times challenging problems that I will face for the rest of my life; in college and the professional world.”

“I have grown with every learning aspect with the help of my peers, students, and teachers. I have mostly grown in self-direction and collaboration. These learning aspects will help me in the future not just in school, but in the work place. I feel that I will keep growing throughout high school.”

“At the beginning of the year, I had a lot of trouble with presenting final projects because I was so shy. I also was not used to working with other people in groups all the time, would usually not take any leadership role, and only occasionally communicated my ideas to the group. Over the course of the year, I have found that I can present more easily and actually look at the people that I am presenting to, project my voice, and not just read the content off the slides. I also improved in my group work. I voice my ideas to my group and sometimes take a leadership role when no one else in the group seems to want to take it. I think that this is mostly due to having to improve in these areas every day in order to complete the projects we were doing in our classes.”
