Collaboration
Local leaders bring the real world to TVHS
Collaboration at Tech Valley High has taken on an added dimension. Ask Dr. Clint Ballinger, CEO of Evident Technologies, Troy, or Dr. Tobi Saulnier, CEO of 1st Playable Productions, Troy – or the other 26 members of the Business Alliance for Tech Valley High School. They’ll tell you about powerful partnerships that have inspired them, and the students at Tech Valley High.

Dr. James N. Baldwin, district superintendent of Questar III, and Amy Johnson, president of Capstone Inc., observe freshmen, from left, Mandi Jung from Coxsackie-Athens Central School District, and Olivia Richards from Cohoes City School District, as they work on a G.A.M.E project.

Area leaders from business, technology, higher education, government and organized labor have met regularly since last September to help provide ongoing connections for the school, its teachers and students with the real world of work and with developments in the regional and global economy. Led by Kevin M. Leyden, solutions executive in IBM’s Albany office, and Amy Johnson, president of Capstone Inc., Latham, the Business Alliance is developing strategies and tactics to connect Tech Valley High with the Tech Valley economy.
