Special Education services will continue in both hybrid and remote learning environments. Special Education teachers have been scheduled for inclusion support in core classes in addition to Resource Room periods (ACE) daily. When students are learning in the building, ACE will be offered in its own classroom with social distancing and direct in-person support from the Special Education teachers. When students are learning remotely, students will have ACE periods on their synchronous schedules and receive small group and individual support through Zoom. Special Education teachers will log attendance and goal progress from the IEP for each student. Special Education teachers are included in the scheduled co-planning periods with content area teachers on alternating A/B days.
Related services as outlined by a student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP) will be delivered face to face during in-person instruction if possible. If/when remote instruction is necessary, services will be delivered via teletherapy. In cases where a student does not have access to internet connection, faculty will work with families to provide activities and resources that meet the IEP goals. Teachers will work with families to assist them with facilitating the sessions. Phone calls and home visits will allow for teachers and families/students to connect if unable to otherwise.
