Packed Houses Celebrate Tech Valley High School’s Production of Mamma Mia!
The Tech Valley High School Drama Club took center stage on Friday and Saturday, May 22 and 23, as students presented two outstanding performances of Mamma Mia! at the University at Albany Performing Arts Center. Both performances were met with packed houses and enthusiastic audiences, a reward for the months of dedication, creativity, and hard work that brought the production to life.
While the performers captivated audiences with their talent, the success of the production was truly a school-wide effort. Behind every musical number was a team of students working together to create a seamless experience. In addition to the cast, students dedicated hours to choreography, stage management, set design, sound, lighting, props, costumes, and backstage operations. Their commitment and willingness to support one another represents the collaboration and problem-solving at TVHS.
The production would not have been possible without the support of our families, who volunteered their time, assisted with costumes, transportation, concessions, and countless other behind-the-scenes tasks. Their partnership helped create an experience our students will remember for years to come. Finally, we extend our sincere appreciation to our staff advisors Mr. Irwin and Ms. McIntosh, whose guidance and countless hours of mentoring helped students grow not only as performers, but also as leaders and collaborators.
Congratulations to everyone who made Mamma Mia! such a tremendous success. Thank you for sharing your talents with our community and for creating an unforgettable weekend of theater.
