Starting the Year with TRRS: Building Community from Day One

The 2025–26 school year at Tech Valley High School began with a focus on connection, collaboration, and community.

On Thursday, September 4, the Class of 2027 kicked off their high school journey with Freshmen Orientation. The theme of the day was our Honor Code values: Trust, Respect, Responsibility, and Stewardship (TRRS). Students spent time learning about their new school, getting to know their classmates, and working together in small groups. The day included a discussion of their summer work, where students shared their hopes for what they want their high school experience to be and how they can live out TRRS as members of our school community.

Friday, September 5, the entire school came together for a day of community service at Thacher Park, made possible through the Connect Kids to Parks grant. Students rolled up their sleeves to care for the natural spaces around the park: cleaning trails, supporting the visitor and nature centers, and helping prepare the grounds for a new inclusive playground. It was a hands-on opportunity to practice stewardship while making a positive impact on a place that many in our region enjoy.

By starting the year with orientation, teamwork, and service, our students are already living out our shared values of TRRS. We are excited to see how these experiences will continue to shape their growth and contributions throughout the year.
