Tuition Reimbursement Program

Students may apply for tuition reimbursement for courses taken while enrolled at TVHS, including, but not necessarily limited to, AP courses, University in High School (UHS) courses and other courses that have the potential to allow students to earn college credit. Access the tuition reimbursement application here.

ELIGIBILITY FOR REIMBURSEMENT:

In order to be eligible, the student must have received a grade of C (75) or higher for UHS courses, or a grade of 3 or above on an AP exam. Students can apply for reimbursement by providing proof of the grade and payment within three months of receiving the course grade.

TUITION ELIGIBLE FOR REIMBURSEMENT:

All AP or Excelsior College exams taken while enrolled at TVHS.
All CHS or UHS courses taken at TVHS.
All courses taken through accredited colleges (Maximum of $165 per class).
Other courses approved by the director of the Tech Valley Regional Technology Institute in consultation with the Tech Valley High School principal. Please note that request for approval of another course must be submitted in letters to the Foundation Board of Directors prior to the student enrolling in the course.

LIMITS FOR REIMBURSEMENT

There is no annual total limit for a student to receive tuition reimbursement, but each reimbursement is limited to $165. Reimbursement will take place on a first-come, first-served basis. The Tech Valley School Foundation Board may decline reimbursement or discontinue the reimbursement program if it does not have sufficient funds to cover all reimbursement requests.

SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES

Students who cannot afford to pay tuition fees at the time of enrollment in the exam or course may apply to the TVHS principal for funding at the time of enrollment. This request must include a letter explaining the circumstances for financial need, proof of cost, and proof of an overall grade point average over 80 percent. This request must be submitted to the TVHS principal prior to enrollment in the course. If approved, a check will be issued directly to the enrolling institution. These students would not be eligible for any type of reimbursement following the course because they will not have experienced any out-of-pocket expense.
